PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - A jury has found a northeast South Dakota man guilty of threatening a judge over documents he attempted to file in a foreclosure matter.

The Brown County jury on Tuesday returned the verdict against 77-year-old Eugene Paulson.

The Rosholt man could face up to seven years in prison and $14,000 in fines.

Paulson’s attorney information could not be found. He was charged with felony counts of threatening or intimidating a judicial officer and offering a false or forged document for filing.

He was also charged with a misdemeanor count of uttering a simulated process.

The charges stem from alleged threats made and documents that Paulson attempted to file during a foreclosure proceeding.
