IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - An Iowa City landlord convicted of spying on tenants through peepholes has been fined $6,000 and ordered to spend at least 150 days in jail.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen says (https://icp-c.com/1eNmXzV) 64-year-old Elwyn Miller apologized for his actions and pleaded for mercy at his sentencing on Monday.

After a nonjury trial, Miller was convicted of six counts of invasion of privacy. The judge concluded Miller was looking for sexual gratification when he spied on female tenants through hidden peepholes. Miller was arrested in October 2012.

Miller’s request for a new trial has been denied.
