SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) - A former Southern California middle school teacher has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for obtaining nude photos from teens he met online.

The San Bernardino Sun says (https://bit.ly/1bm4BFX ) Eugene Ballentyne pleaded guilty in 2012 to attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Prosecutors say Ballentyne used an alias while talking to a 13-year-old New Jersey girl online and convinced her to send him nude photos.

New Jersey detectives tracked a photo the 30-year-old Ballentyne sent of himself sitting behind a desk in his classroom. The photo came with a Google Maps link that matched the address to Arrowview Middle School in San Bernardino.

FBI agents searched his computer and found photos from other teens, including a 15-year-old.

The San Bernardino Unified School District placed Ballentyne on leave in February 2012.
