PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A stubborn fire in a large northeast Portland automotive shop went to three alarms Sunday night before firefighters were able to bring it under control.
Portland Fire and Rescue says firefighters had to cut their way through roll-up industrial doors. Then, they were forced out by black smoke and explosions, apparently from cars and equipment.
Nearby residents were temporarily evacuated.
There was no one inside the building at the time and no firefighters were injured.
