HONOLULU (AP) - The committee tasked with selecting the University of Hawaii’s next president is forgoing services of a search firm.
The University of Hawaii Regents’ Committee on Presidential Selection voted Thursday to conduct the nationwide search using university board staff, with advice from the human resources office.
The university is seeking a replacement for M.R.C. Greenwood. She announced last year she was retiring to deal with health problems and spend more time with family. She had two years left on her contract.
The committee will begin reviewing applications and nominations by the end of February. The committee hopes to make a recommendation to the full Board of Regents by June.
