SALEM, Ore. (AP) - A man who drove a getaway car in a fatal gang shooting in Woodburn has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.

The Statesman Journal reports (https://stjr.nl/1iZdjfl ) Mark Antonio Camarena was sentenced in Marion County Circuit Court on Friday. The 23-year-old Camarena pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in October.

28-year-old Michael McGovern of Woodburn died of a gunshot wound in the September 2012 shooting.

Authorities say Camarena drove a green Honda sedan with Daniel Nepomuceno in the passenger seat. After McGovern flashed the two a hand signal indicating his gang affiliation, Nepomuceno shot him with a silver handgun. Camarena then drove away from the scene.

The 22-year-old Nepomuceno pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced in October to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
