WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police are seeking the driver of a pickup truck who hit and killed a pedestrian and left the scene.

It happened early Saturday morning on West 2nd Street. Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the behavior of the victim, who fell into the roadway after leaving a home.

The truck ran over the 57-year-old man as he was lying in the road and did not stop. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police will release the man’s name after relatives are notified. Police are asking the driver of the truck to come forward.
