DENVER (AP) - A man who was involved in a prescription drug trafficking ring while he worked as a pharmacist has been sentenced.
The Colorado Attorney General’s Office says Jeffrey Clawson was ordered Friday to serve 15 years in a Community Corrections program in Adams County. He was one of 15 people involved in a scheme to fraudulently acquire, divert and distribute large amounts of the prescription painkiller oxycodone in the Denver area and in Oklahoma.
Clawson relinquished his pharmacy license in April and has agreed not to work in the pharmaceutical industry again.
The other 14 people named in the 43-count indictment have been sentenced.
