SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Jenifer Ward has been named provost and dean of Centenary College.

The announcement was made by Centenary President David Rowe.

Ward, who has been dean at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, will take the Centenary post on July 1.



She holds a doctorate in Germanic languages and literature from Vanderbilt University. Ward earned a bachelor of arts from Hendrix College in Arkansas.

In addition to her work at Cornish College, she has held faculty positions at Gustavus Adolphus College, Rhodes College and the College of Wooster.

Ward replaces Karen Soul who will serve as Centenary’s interim provost through June.
