NORMAL, Ala. (AP) - Jeremy Crutcher scored 11 points Saturday night, including the game-winning free throw, as Alabama A&M beat Texas Southern 63-62.
Nicholas West scored 12 points, Justin Colvin 11, Arthur Capers 10 and the Bulldogs (7-11, 4-4) outshot the Tigers 51.1 percent to 44.4 percent. Crutcher also had seven assists and Capers shot 3 for 3 from distance.
Alabama A&M led 15-4 on a 3-pointer by Crutcher, then built a 13-point lead. Texas Southern used a 13-4 run to draw within four points, but Colvin scored five straight and Alabama A&M led 36-28 at halftime.
Aaric Murray closed Texas Southern within 62-60 on two free throws in the second half and Madarious Gibbs tied it at 62 on a tip shot with 7 seconds to play. Crutcher drew a foul and hit the second of two free throws for the win.
Murray led Texas Southern with 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
