President Obama, who is on vacation in Hawaii, has asked Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. to attend Officer Rafael Ramos’ funeral on Saturday.
Officer Ramos and Officer Wenjian Liu were killed Saturday by Ismaaiyl Brinsley, who had posted on social media soon before the shootings about the police-involved deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. He later took his own life.
Mr. Biden’s wife, Jill, is also planning to attend the Saturday funeral, according to the White House.
