RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada’s taxable sales rose 4.7 percent in June compared with the same month a year ago, led by an 8 percent gain in Clark County and a 7.3 percent increase in Washoe County.
The Nevada Department of Taxation said Wednesday that taxable sales totaled nearly $3.1 billion in Clark County and $565 million in Washoe County. The statewide total was $4.2 billion
Sales jumped a whopping 74 percent to a total of $14.6 million in Storey County, where several new warehouses and distribution centers recently have opened and ground has been broken for the possible site of electric car-maker Tesla Motor’s new lithium battery plant.
The biggest declines were 47 percent in Nye County, 46 percent in Mineral County and 34 percent in Churchill County.
