MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A Missoula woman has been given a three-year deferred sentence for keeping her young daughter away from the girl’s dying father for more than a year.
The Missoulian reports (https://bit.ly/1oMaBNQ ) 51-year-old Viola Renee Prazma was sentenced Tuesday by District Judge Karen Townsend after pleading guilty to parenting interference.
Stanley Prazma said he told his ex-wife in March 2012 that he had been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease and had two to five years to live. A short time later, she left town with their 5-year-old daughter.
Viola Prazma was eventually located in Hettinger, N.D., and returned to Missoula to face charges in September 2013. The girl was reunited with her father, stepmother and older brother.
