WELLSBORO, Pa. (AP) - A woman has been charged with killing an elderly central Pennsylvania man in a botched robbery last fall that also left his wife seriously hurt.

Investigators say 82-year-old Oliver Litzelman was shot to death in a robbery at his home in Liberty Township, Tioga County. His 81-year-old wife, Edwina, was injured in the attack.

Fifty-seven-year-old Debra Lockett of Morris Township was charged Wednesday in the Sept. 13 incident.

Prosecutors said Lockett went to the couple’s home claiming she was a Litzelman descendant and doing genealogy work. After being invited inside, police said Lockett announced a robbery and Oliver Litzelman was killed in an ensuing scuffle.

A daughter of the couple found her parents two days later and called police.
