WICKLIFFE, Ky. (AP) - Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site will celebrate Earth Day with a tree-planting event called Natural Environment Day.

The event starts at 9:30 a.m. on April 26 and volunteers will meet at the park welcome center. Native trees will be planted. An interpretive program about the natural environment of the Mississippian culture and the Woods Walk Trail will be conducted after the tree planting.

Volunteers should bring work gloves and a sack lunch.



Wickliffe Mounds is an archaeological site of a Native American village of the Mississippian culture. The park features a museum, mounds, walking trail, picnic area, visitor center with tourism information and a gift shop.
