ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - The University of Georgia has named a new vice president for development and alumni relations.
UGA President Jere Morehead announced the appointment of Kelly Kerner Tuesday. Kerner comes to UGA from Bowdoin College in Maine, where he was senior vice president for development and alumni relations and secretary of the college.
Kerner’s appointment is effective July 1. He’ll succeed longtime UGA administrator Tom Landrum, who’s retiring. The offices that will report directly to him include development, financial services, alumni relations, special events and the career center.
Kerner was selected as a finalist after a national search by a 19-member committee made up of faculty, staff, students and alumni.
Kerner has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He’s worked in higher education development for more than two decades.
