Twin toddlers drown in pool near Fort Lauderdale

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Officials say twin toddlers drowned in a pool at a Deerfield Beach apartment complex.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office says a couple visiting from North Carolina spotted the 2-year-old girls in the pool as they headed to the Jacuzzi on Tuesday evening.

They called for help and began administering CPR.

Arriving deputies took over CPR efforts until rescue crews arrived and took the children to the Broward Health Medical Center.

Sheriff’s officials say Harmani and Harmony West died a short time later.

Homicide detectives are investigating. No further details were immediately available.
