ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A 17-year-old girl has died after being struck by a car as she crossed a Rochester street.
Police tell local media outlets the accident happened shortly after 9:30 Tuesday night on Dewey Avenue. The teen was pronounced dead at Strong Memorial Hospital early Wednesday morning.
Police have not identified the victim, but April Burgio tells local media outlets it was her daughter, Brittany Burgio. She says Brittany was hit while she was walking home from a convenience store.
The 23-year-old driver of the car was ticketed for driving without a license.
