PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence police say a fourth-grader brought a small amount of marijuana to school and showed it to friends.

WPRI-TV (https://bit.ly/1hh11gT ) reports that the boy brought a “tiny” amount of marijuana to the Veazie Street School on Tuesday.

Fellow students told a teacher, and she asked him to empty his pockets. The marijuana was wrapped in plastic.

The station says the boy told police he “found the weed on his bed.”

No one has been arrested, and the school department did not immediately return a request for comment.
