EPHRATAH, N.Y. (AP) - A 30-year-old man could face 25 years to life in prison after being convicted of second-degree murder for shooting his mother in the head in her home in rural Fulton County.

The Gloversville Leader-Herald (https://bit.ly/1mXcR39 ) reports that James Dibble was found guilty Tuesday of the murder charge as well as possession of stolen property. He was accused of killing 57-year-old Gwenda Lisman, who was found dead last July in her home in Ephratah, 40 miles northwest of Albany.

The prosecution said Dibble shot his mother with a rifle she had borrowed from a neighbor to shoot rodents in her garden. He was also convicted of selling stolen jewelry, a chainsaw, and NASCAR collectibles belonging to Lisman’s longtime boyfriend.

Sentencing was set for June 12.
