CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Clarksburg man has been sentenced on a drug charge stemming from the theft of guns from the Stonewood Police Department.
Twenty-eight-year-old Dominic Sutherlin had pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of a firearm by a drug addict. The Exponent Telegram (https://bit.ly/1sAf7hK ) reports that Sutherlin was sentenced Tuesday to three years and a month in prison.
Sutherlin is among six people who pleaded guilty in the case.
Special agent Kenneth Grace with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives previously testified that Sutherlin was the getaway driver for two co-defendants.
More than a dozen guns, including pistol grips and an automatic rifle, were stolen from the police department during a break-in in August 2013.
