JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A woman, who is a double amputee, has been found dead in a home in Jackson.

WLBT-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1hivGus ) firefighters answered a call around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and found her body, burned beyond recognition.

Investigators say the disabled victim was found in the home’s bedroom, and that’s where the fire started.



Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart identified her as 59-year-old Wilma Jean Luckett.

Neighbors say that Luckett was also diabetic, and may have been smoking at the time the fire started.

Jackson police and fire officials are investigating.
