RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A Rapid City man went through several hours of surgery after being attacked by a roommate’s dog.
Pennington County Sheriff’s Capt. Jay Evenson tells the Rapid City Journal (https://bit.ly/1lJYn3G ) that 25-year-old Jacob Maloon was attacked Tuesday morning inside a mobile home he shares with two other people.
Evenson did not know what led to the incident. He says the dog’s owner was not home but a second roommate pulled the dog off Maloon, who was taken to a hospital with bites on his face, neck, arms and hands.
Tonya Sabin with the Humane Society of the Black Hills says the dog’s owner has decided to have the 4-year-old pit bull euthanized at the end of a 10-day quarantine period.
