BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Armed with new DNA evidence obtained from a previously untested 6-year-old beer can, Baton Rouge police cold-case detectives arrested a man in the April 2008 shooting death of 55-year-old Willie Mitchell.
Cpl. Don Coppola tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1hrJ00m ) Theodis Guillory was booked into Parish Prison on one count of second-degree murder.
Police did not have to look far to find Guillory.
He was already in Parish Prison awaiting trial for a June 2011 attempted second-degree murder - a case in which he was accused of beating a 51-year-old man with a board, stabbing him, shooting him twice, then setting him on fire.
It was unclear whether Guillory has an attorney in the new case.
