PARAMUS, N.J. (AP) - Two 16-year-olds are charged with an attempted carjacking at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus.

Police say the boys tried to pull a Ridgefield Park woman out of her vehicle after opening the unlocked doors Tuesday. Police say one of the teens grabbed the women’s keys, but fled after a struggle.

A Paramus police officer caught one of the teens and the other was taken into custody a short time later.

The boys are charged with carjacking and resisting arrest. They’re being held in a juvenile detention center. Their names have not been released because of their ages.
