FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The Evans Police Department has asked investigators in two other cities to review a 2012 shooting that was originally ruled a suicide.

Evans Police Chief Rick Brandt said Tuesday the Fort Collins and Loveland police departments will reopen the case involving 28-year-old Ashley Fallis, who was found dead on New Year’s Day 2012.

Brandt says new witness accounts and “allegations of misconduct” against an Evans police officer prompted him to ask for the review.

The Coloradoan reports (https://noconow.co/1oKJrqy ) Fort Collins police will head the evidence review surrounding Fallis’ death, while Loveland authorities will investigate allegations that one of the investigators involved in the case tampered with witness statements.
