Man found dead at Eugene house fire

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A man was found dead at a house fire Monday night in Eugene.

KVAL reports (https://bit.ly/1jYDnGw ) firefighters were originally dispatched to an aid call and were surprised when they discovered the fire.

The man was about 70 years old. His mother also was at the home. She was taken to a hospital and treated for breathing smoke.

The fire burned a back bedroom and deck where a barbecue propane tank was venting.
