PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Officers suspect a Clarkston woman was driving drunk when she sped through Pullman Monday night, side-swiping vehicles and causing another car to crash into a power pole, knocking out electricity in the neighborhood.

Police and Whitman County deputies chased the woman and arrested 53-year-old Cheryl A. Bynum on Highway 27 after she lost control of her car.

KHQ-TELEVISION reports (https://nbcnews.to/R0fOmA ) a passenger in one car that had been sideswiped was checked at a hospital for a minor injury. The driver of another car that was forced into the power pole had to wait for Avista crews before he could be rescued.



The Clarkston woman is facing possible charges of reckless and hit-and-run driving and driving under the influence.
