CARROLLTON, Ga. (AP) - Police say a western Georgia couple has been arrested in a carjacking that ended after a police chase into Alabama.
Carrollton police Capt. Chris Dobbs says a couple called a cab to their home - which was on fire at the time - and rode to a local McDonalds, where they robbed the driver at gunpoint and stole his car.
Police say the couple then drove the cab onto Interstate 20 and fled police until they crashed in Heflin, Ala. Dobbs says the woman was airlifted to a hospital and the man and child were taken to a local hospital by an ambulance.
Dobbs says the carjacking and house fire are under investigation. The names of the two adults who were involved have not been released.
