KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) - A state police helicopter has joined the search for a man missing at a Kalamazoo lake.

Fifty-six-year-old Takashi Sugimori is the husband of Kalamazoo College professor Noriko Sugimori, who teaches Japanese. Their daughter is a senior at the school.

Police say Sugimori may have fallen through ice at Asylum Lake. He planned to go cross-country skiing and hasn’t been seen since last Wednesday.

Rain and shifting ice have made it difficult for divers to get into the water.

The Kalamazoo Gazette (https://bit.ly/1e8dvru ) says city police got help Tuesday from a state police helicopter.
