PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Ryan Braun has hit three homers in the first eight innings of Milwaukee’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Braun hit a three-run shot to left in the third off Kyle Kendrick, ending a streak of 98 plate appearances without a homer. He went deep again off Kendrick in the fourth and hit another three-run shot off Brad Lincoln in the eighth.
Braun’s seven RBIs are a career high. It’s the second time he has homered three times in a game.
The 2011 NL MVP entered the game with only three singles in his first 20 at-bats.
