RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A freshman football player for Saint Augustine’s University has died.

The university said in a statement that 19-year-old Ronald Cunningham of Dinwiddie, Va., got sick on campus around 11 a.m. Sunday.

Officials say Cunningham was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died several hours later.

University spokeswoman Shelley Willingham-Hinton says a cause of death hasn’t been confirmed but that no foul play is suspected.

A prayer vigil for students was scheduled for Monday afternoon on campus. Cunningham was a freshman offensive lineman majoring in computer engineering.
