DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Authorities in eastern Iowa say an inmate at a county jail sexually harassed other inmates.
Dubuque police say 51-year-old Christopher H. Simms faces charges of prostitution, assault and third-degree harassment. Court records do not list an attorney.
The Telegraph Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1qgiIhc ) inmates at the Dubuque County Jail say Simms offered money to an inmate in exchange for a sexual act and inappropriately touched another inmate. He is also accused of making inappropriate comments to inmates in the shower.
Jail records show Simms has been at the jail since November. Police say the alleged offenses took place between early February and early March.
Assistant Police Chief Terry Tobin says Simms was placed in a segregated area on Feb. 14, but it’s unclear if he remains there.
