OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Authorities say a 9-year-old Omaha girl who was injured after a dog bit her in the face is out of the hospital.

Omaha police say the girl was hurt in her apartment Saturday after a family friend brought over a 1-year-old English bulldog.

Officials say the dog bit the girl in the face when she bent down to pet it. Omaha television station KETV reports (https://bit.ly/Otpsfd ) the girl will need reconstructive surgery around her mouth and lips. Additional information was not released.



The Nebraska Humane Society says the dog remains in quarantine.
