RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed and one injured in a weekend crash on Interstate 580 in Reno.
Authorities say a preliminary investigation indicates 23-year-old Kenneth Lee of Reno was traveling south in a northbound lane when his 1995 Honda struck a Nissan driven by 71-year-old Hans-Hartmut Kaesgen of Berea, Ohio.
Both drivers were killed in the head-on crash. Kaesgen’s wife, 70-year-old Nancy Kaesgen, was seriously injured and remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition.
The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. Saturday just south of the Plumb Lane exit ramp.
An investigation is continuing and authorities say alcohol is suspected.
