MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A man convicted in a Pennsylvania wreck that killed a sheriff’s deputy has pleaded guilty to charges in West Virginia.
Jerod Green entered the plea Monday in Monongalia County Circuit Court to drunken driving and two fleeing charges.
No sentencing date was immediately set. The Dominion Post (https://bit.ly/1ipL6u6) reports prosecutors plan to recommend a sentence of up to 18 years for Green.
The charges stem from a 2012 hit-and-run accident. West Virginia authorities pursued Green’s truck into southwestern Pennsylvania, where it crashed into Monongalia County Sgt. Todd May’s cruiser. May was killed.
Green was convicted of third-degree murder in Pennsylvania and is serving 25 to 50 years in prison.
