PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A state Senate panel is holding confirmation hearings on several nominees to the Rhode Island Commerce Corp. and the I-195 Redevelopment District Commission.
The Senate Commerce Committee will consider on Tuesday the reappointment of Elizabeth Francis, Oscar Hebert and Karl Wadensten to the Commerce Corp., formerly the Economic Development Corp.
Francis is director of the state’s Council for the Humanities. Hebert is the CEO of Atrion Networking Corp. Wadensten is a small businessman who cast the lone no vote against the EDC’s $75 million loan guarantee for 38 Studios.
The panel will also consider the reappointment to the 195 Commission of Barbara Hunger, a registered nurse, and Diana Johnson, an art consultant, and the appointment of Patrick Rogers, former chief of staff to Gov. Lincoln Chafee.
