PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A 60-year-old Monroe woman has reported two non life-threatening injuries after she said she was shot while walking from her newspaper box to her house.

The Register Guard reports Gale Folgestrom says she was shot on the left side of her lower back and on her left buttocks around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Folgestrom told sheriff’s deputies that she heard about 40 rounds of ammunition being fired when she walked outside, which she said is fairly common in the area.

Deputies spoke to two men who were target practicing on their property about 100 yards away from the site of the shooting. Deputies recovered two handguns and ammunition the two were using.

No one charges have been filed in connection with the shooting.
