MARBLE HILL, Mo. (AP) - A southeast Missouri man charged in the death of his brother has been granted a change of judge in the case.

The Southeast Missourian reports (https://bit.ly/PxcCOd ) that Bollinger County Circuit Judge Benjamin Lewis granted Lonnie Liley’s request Thursday for a new judge. The case has been assigned to Circuit Judge William Syler.

Liley has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the January shooting death of his brother, 50-year-old Jessie Liley. According to a probable-cause affidavit, Lonnie Liley told police he shot his brother in self-defense.



Lonnie Liley is jailed on $500,000 cash-only bond.
