Long Beach police officer arrested

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Long Beach police officer has been arrested on three counts of sexual battery of a juvenile.

The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/QTRnXW ) reports Sheriff Melvin Brisolara said in a press release that 44-year-old Patrick Klis, of Pass Christian, was arrested Friday.

The sheriff’s office says the investigation began after it received information that Klis was allegedly having sexual relations with a15-year-old girl. The Department of Human Services has taken the teenager into protective custody.

Klis was taken to the Harrison County jail, where he’s being held on a $300,000 bond set by Circuit Judge John Gargiulo. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
