FRANKLIN, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police say a Franklin woman is charged with financially exploiting a vulnerable adult after police say she withdrew large amounts of money from the victim’s bank account without permission.

Twenty-eight-year-old Megan L. West is charged with seven counts of larceny and one charge of financial exploitation of a vulnerable adult, all felonies. She’s scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on April 28. It was not immediately known if West was being represented by an attorney.

She’s accused of taking the bank card of a 68-year-old man whom she knew and withdrawing large portions of cash. Police say the victim, who was living in an assisted living facility in Enosburg, was related to someone with whom West had had a relationship.
