BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Prosecutors are considering filing enhanced charges against two teenagers accused of beating a 30-year-old man unconscious in his Boulder apartment.

District Attorney Stan Garnett says his office could add an “at-risk” enhancement when charges are filed Monday against Luke Pelham and Austin Holford, both 18. The two were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree assault for allegedly beating Aaron Tuneberg, who a family friend says has a severe developmental disability.

Police say Tuneberg suffered serious head injuries when he was beaten during the theft of a video game console Monday.

Stephanie Baum, of Longmont, who is a friend of Tuneberg’s older sister and has known him since he was born, tells The Daily Camera (https://bit.ly/1ehEdbZ ) the man has the mentality of a 14-year-old boy.
