NEW MILFORD, N.J. (AP) - A northern New Jersey woman is facing criminal charges after she was found allegedly intoxicated and carrying liquor and beer in her baby’s stroller.

Police say they responded to a report of an unattended stroller outside the Golden China restaurant in New Milford Wednesday night. They say they found 26-year-old Ashley Scola of Hawthorne preparing to leave the restaurant. Police tell The Record (https://bit.ly/1e0YVSI) Scola’s speech appeared slurred and there was an odor of alcohol on her breath.

Officers later allegedly found a sealed bottle of vodka in her purse in the baby’s stroller and empty beer cans in a bag underneath.

The newspaper reported Scola was charged with child endangerment and was being held Friday in lieu of $50,000 bail. It wasn’t known if she’d retained an attorney.
