MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (AP) - A man accused of killing a Missouri woman has been returned to southern Illinois to face charges of first-degree murder.
WSIL-TV (https://bit.ly/1q4zM9L) reports that 28-year-old Brandon Banks is jailed in Jackson County after challenging extradition from St. Louis. That’s where he was arrested in January two days after the body of 40-year-old Marsha Ann Brown was found in tall weeds on a small embankment near Makanda (muh-KAN’-duh).
Banks and the victim are both from Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Banks was returned to Illinois on Friday. He is jailed on $1 million bond.
Online court records do not show whether Banks has an attorney.
