JENNINGS, La. (AP) - Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury Mark Pousson has resigned his position after moving outside the district he represented.
Pousson told The American Press (https://bit.ly/1eOXZNb ) his family built a home that is just outside the district. He stepped down on March 31.
Police Jury President Donald Woods says the jury probably will appoint an interim juror when it meets Wednesday.
The interim police juror would serve until a special election on Nov. 4. Qualifying for the position will be Aug. 20-22.
Pousson had served since 2008 as a police juror. His district included the community of Welsh.
