MODESTO, Calif. (AP) - Three girls are critically injured after one of them stabbed the other two before stabbing herself in the bedroom of a central California house.

Modesto police spokeswoman says the stabbing of two 13-year-old girls and an 11-year-old girl was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday.

She said one of the 13-year-olds appeared to have stabbed the other two before stabbing herself.

The circumstances surrounding the stabbings were being investigated.
