JENKS, Okla. (AP) - A teenager has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison for the 2012 shooting death of a woman in Jenks.
Court records show that 16-year-old Joshua Scott Mooney pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm and second-degree burglary in a hearing Friday morning in Tulsa County.
Mooney was sentenced to life in prison for the counts of first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. He received seven years on the burglary count.
Authorities said Mooney shot and killed 47-year-old Mary Escue, of Reno, Nev., in the head when she returned to her parents’ home in Jenks during a reported burglary in December 2012.
