SENECA, S.C. (AP) - An Oconee County principal has been charged with failing to report child abuse or neglect.
WSPA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1luBwZQ ) that 41-year-old Idasa Cobb was booked into jail Thursday. Records show she was later released on bond.
School district officials say Cobb was placed on leave earlier this week from her job as principal at Blue Ridge Elementary. Officials say she has since submitted a letter of resignation.
Police have not given details on the abuse Cobb is accused of failing to report, but district officials say the situation does not involve a district employee and is not alleged to have happened at the school.
It wasn’t immediately known if Cobb had an attorney. A working phone number for her could not be found.
