LOS ANGELES (AP) - Two Southern California bank robbers who threw the loot out a car window during a police chase have been sentenced to long prison terms.
Twenty-four-year-old Lavelle Mosley got 33 years on Friday and 27-year-old Terion Collins was sentenced to 45 years and eight months.
They were convicted of robbery in January.
Prosecutors say the gang members robbed a Bank of America branch in Canyon Country in September 2012 and fled in a stolen Volvo SUV.
During an hour-long chase by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies, the crooks threw fistfuls of cash out the window, prompting bystanders to scramble for the money.
The pursuit ended on a street where authorities arrested the two men as throngs of people moved in and tried to take any remaining cash from the SUV.
