OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Officials say more than 15 chickens and other animals have been seized from a house in Sarpy County.

The Nebraska Humane Society says animal control officers executed a search warrant and removed the animals during a raid Friday. The rescued animals include five cats and two dogs.

Officials say a plastic carrier on the property had more than 40 pounds of chicken feces inside. A living chicken was found inside the carrier.

The Humane Society says 53-year-old Juanita L. Holmes has been cited for 25 counts of animal cruelty. A message left for Holmes was not immediately returned Friday night.
